Image taken by photographer Suitcase Joe on Skid Row, a 54-block area in downtown Los Angeles that has become synonymous with homelessness, poverty, addiction and mental illnesses. The creation of this product was inspired by the Suitcase Joe foundation, a grassroots movement set up by Suitcase Joe in response to the rise of homelessness and those in need of help on Skid Row.

Photographer and activist Suitcase Joe has spent years chronicling the Skid Row community. His photographs capture the day to day life of residents in the neighbourhood and helps raise awareness of a place where people often feel abandoned, rejected by both the system and society.
