THE SKID ROW COLLECTION
The TOMORROW x Suitcase Joe x Travis Keller Skid Row capsule collection consists of 4 T-Shirts, 2 Tote Bags and 1 Hoodie with exclusively designed artwork. 50% of all proceeds from the collection will be donated and shared between the artists and The Suitcase Joe Foundation with the aim of empowering the voices of the community and solving the homeless crisis on skid row.
WHAT IS SKID ROW?
At the heart of Los Angeles lies a concentration of desperate poverty unlike any other city in the developed world.
We’ve collaborated with Artist Travis Keller and Photographer Suitcase Joe to support The Suitcase Joe Foundation, a grassroots movement created in response to the rise of homelessness and those in need of help on Skid Row, LA’s epicentre of homelessness.
Suitcase Joe is an anonymous photographer who has been documenting LA’s Skid Row for half a decade. Although initially terrified to walk into the neighbourhood with just a camera, Joe has gotten to know the residents on a personal level and has initiated the Suitcase Joe Foundation, an inclusive grassroots movement advocating to eliminate homelessness.
Skid Row is a 54-block area in downtown Los Angeles that has become synonymous with homelessness, poverty, addiction and mental illness.
After years of consecutive failed promises from the State, the residents of Skid Row have developed a deep rooted lack of trust. The Suitcase Joe Foundation aims to address the issue by connecting with the community on a personal level and understanding the needs of the people that live there.
Travis Keller is an LA based artist and record label owner that started one of the first music websites on the internet, Buddyhead.com and is now currently the creative director of American Primitive recording studio. Kellers work and designs are inspired by the city of LA and his gratitude for life.
